The Blue Fusion inSL helps fight hunger and pay it forward
•January 3, 2009 • Leave a CommentHappy New Year 2009
•December 31, 2008 • Leave a CommentTo all my lovelies of the the Blue Fusion…. and readers, family, friends and just you….
In the passing of another year, and the promise of the new
may all your hope and wishes come true
remember the the hard of the past, and learn to let it go
take the great from the year before and pass it forward
listen to those who have already been there, and mentor those who need to know
always remember to hold the ones dear, close to you
and relish in their love for you
always say “I love you” if you mean it
My heart is with you, Hugs and Poofs Holli
Happy Holidays from the Blue Fusion inSL
•December 24, 2008 • Leave a CommentWell another year is ending… some is sad, most is happy and all is for the better.
good friend, I created a mini version of the Blue Fusion in a Snow Globe as a gift to the staff and the patrons of the Blue.
Since the Blue Fusion went thru a great design change, I updated the Snow Globe to reflect those changes.
We show it and express it in many way
it may be the birth of a great man or the passing of a season,
it could be the fall of understanding and the rise of hope,
the strengthening of family and community,
it is a time to take pause, in our busy lives
to take a look at the world around us,
and rejoyce in all that is pure of home and family
whatever I am doing in the world, RL or SL
you are in my heart and mind
Birthday blues?
•December 13, 2008 • 1 CommentWell I know that it has been a few months since I have posted anything. Seems that in all the social networking that I do, all the tools, all the events, all the things that I do and have to say… my blogging has suffered… My Real Life work has doubled, and between the traveling, my customers, presentations, teaching classes, building servers and trying to stay married :)) my blogging has suffered!
But here it is the weekend and I have 30 minutes before leaving to help a friend. So I thought I would say hello.
I had a birthday on Wednesday. It was a strange day, because with all of the things going on… well they just took the fore front to any celebrations that we might have considered in the past… always big parties, lots of ppl. This year just a little dinner out.. with family and a few friends at our local pub and restaraunt.
I was also able to spend a little time in Second Life. I got to the Blue Fusion around 4:30 where I was greeted by my darling friend Fairie, she gave me a lovely dress with beads, and then a dance with an old dear friend. I recieved cards, clothes, and even a Painting called the Blue Fusion from Fricker Fracker (see the new picture on the Blue Fusion wall). All in all a great time!
So while the day came on me with no planning, I was able to enjoy and be with the ppl that matter the most to me… in both first life and second life… so thank you to you all!

Message in a bottle
•October 21, 2008 • 1 CommentHave you ever had a person touch your life long ago and lose track of them? Have you ever wished you had never let them go? Well I have. And I hate regret, so I thought that I would use my blog to send a message out in a bottle on this great wide internet.
I was in Portland OR last week, this is the last place I heard that he lived. He was a dear friend and love of mine from the mid to late 80’s.
I was 18 when I met him, he saved me from harms way and protected me. He gave me my first rat (yes pet rat) Kissapher, as he named her, a sweet albino rat with pink caviar eyes, who would sit on my shoulder in my hair and kiss my ear. He taught me about love and passion, how to crave sushi, to eat shrimp heads, how to pick up a grain of rice with chopsticks, then a peanut, those slippery buggers. He taught me the love for the Beatles (Oh Girl!), Steely Dan, Van Morisson, Elvis Castello, Talking Heads and Roxy Music. He taught me to love the taste for Scotch (and water for me please), to play pinball with my hips, and distract my opponent at pool with my ummmm chest! He let me play with his computer, my first exposure ever and a feeling I never could let go! (floppy to floppy!!) He was the first to ever record my voice, though I was so frightened.
I was 18, naive and he showed me to have strength in knowing my body and using my mind. We stayed friends for many years, I found him once after I was married only for him to poofed again, this time, leaving no trace. He was a wonderful person with a little sadness in his heart that I was never able to touch, though I tried so many times. He always said that he would die young. I always feared that he would be right.
So I was taking off on Friday morning in an airplane, listening to Hey Nineteen (our song), looking out the window of the plane, as the Portland ground distanced further and further. I felt sad that I keep coming to this town, only to never re-connect with him, feeling that somehow he was still there, and it came to me. Send a message in a bottle and hope, with all hope, that someone might find him, know what happened to him, if he is OK. That he might see this, and know, regardless of whether he connects back with me, he touched me all those years ago, and contributed to the person I am today. We never know the effects we have on people, everyday in every way. And he truly was my first ever, mentor and love.
Mick Wagner, if you see this, find me.
SLCC better this year than last….
•September 7, 2008 • Leave a CommentI have to say thank you to the group of wonderful people that have brought this together… it is getting better and better each year (this only being my 2nd one)
Friday night Ham Rambler of Dublin Island we all went to a cool Irish Pub in Tampa (after 30 of us walked and got lost… annoying at the time… but now in hindsite so fun to do a field trip with a buncha SL RL Avatars)
Cylindrian Rutabega and Lyndon Heart sang, people drank, Artworld talked of his lawsuit against the Linden’s, Filthy Fluno was being regal and lewd all at the same time, Crap was killer (sitting high on the railing watching Cyl sing!!) I offered him a couch in the air, but that is much harder in real life. Ham was a gentleman, witty and sharp, sharing with me his ideas and inspiring me.
I met so many others… and as most of you know… I am not good with names! But I never forget a face!
Thank you for such a great weekend… I will be posting more… just that I got a bad cold… and now must lay my head down…
Hugs and Poofs
Real Life or Role Playing… one never knows… go for the trust
•August 28, 2008 • 1 CommentSo I am friends with the wonderful and amazing DJ Doubledown Tandino, I must say I can not even remember how we became friends. I am sure it was some crazy Rave-o-lisoius party @ Rave island with my girlfriend Elisha Riches or my infacutation Grip Talon, but DD and I stayed in touch. As you may have seen in previous posts, I love techno, well I love anything I can dance to, it is the flip side of both Holli’s RL and SL.
Well anyway… one day I get 5 instant messages from the gang down at Rave island that there is a benefit for the American Breast Cancer Society and that Drew Carey is there helping to promote the event. I was skeptical, you hear about ppl coming into SL and posing as famous people, yes, role playing is grand. We have the U2 gang, and let’s not forget Duran Duran, and one day I was invited to a Pink Floyd concert, and Sid Barrett was on stage (ummmm that is impossible). Anyway… I take all the celeberty comments with a grain of salt, but I also knew the sources and knew they are not fooled by just anyone…. so what the hell… it was a good cause, and fun to partake in and it could be true
)
Turns out… it is true! Thank you to Sion Nightfire for pointing this out to me

Thanks Drew!! Great video!
Social Networking – the value
•August 25, 2008 • Leave a CommentHave you seen http://www.thesixtyone.com? Have you been to a live show lately in Second Life and heard people talking about BUMPING? Well here is what it is all about and this is the true value and metrix of a technology supporting a community for social networking.
Go to the Sixtyone and check out the home page. There are new artists, songs and contributors that are listed for your voting pleasure. Artists can post their music and listeners vote for it. This brings the points and “weight” of the song up, therefore allowing the artist to “bubble” up to the top. Everyone gets a chance to be seen since there is a place to review new music. But this is not all there is to the true value of the network.
If I know or “subscribe” to a listener, I automatically can see what they have been listening to on my home page. Therefore exposing me to music I may not have chosen to seek out. If I choose to add the artist to my collection, based on my preferences, I will be able to see what activities they do on the site.
It is really a circular motion of exposure, scoring and affinity.
Check it out

50 Virtual Worlds in 7 Minutes
•August 14, 2008 • 3 CommentsThis is a trip… so many virtual worlds out there… it is like being on the earth and knowing there are other life forms out in the universe…. this is a really good case for the project to standardize on 3D Web Worlds – see Linden Labs Wiki on this!
It seems to me that a performing artist should be able to broch other worlds, for a business to be able to move from one virtual world to the other, for the consumer to be able to move around…. seems like a lot of power and flexability.
In this video – you can see a bit more than a handful of the virtual worlds out there…. some I have never heard of…a lot that I have not. I am pretty impressed with the visual capabilities of some of them, not sure about the usability as I have not tried more than ActiveWorlds, GooglyLively and Kaneva.
But what is very interesting are the sites like Vitual Barbie and Webkins. This is the begining. You and I have assimulated as adults… and there is a stretch…. get them young, and the assimulation process becomes second nature.
Hope you enjoy!
What a trip!
Hugs and poofs, Holli
