50 Virtual Worlds in 7 Minutes
This is a trip… so many virtual worlds out there… it is like being on the earth and knowing there are other life forms out in the universe…. this is a really good case for the project to standardize on 3D Web Worlds – see Linden Labs Wiki on this!
It seems to me that a performing artist should be able to broch other worlds, for a business to be able to move from one virtual world to the other, for the consumer to be able to move around…. seems like a lot of power and flexability.
In this video – you can see a bit more than a handful of the virtual worlds out there…. some I have never heard of…a lot that I have not. I am pretty impressed with the visual capabilities of some of them, not sure about the usability as I have not tried more than ActiveWorlds, GooglyLively and Kaneva.
But what is very interesting are the sites like Vitual Barbie and Webkins. This is the begining. You and I have assimulated as adults… and there is a stretch…. get them young, and the assimulation process becomes second nature.
